Tarangire National Park has remarkable attractions with large groups of Elephants, spectacular natural beauty of savanna landscape and magnificent majestic Baobabs. On this one day excursion in the park you will note as a safari destination for the large concentration of wildlife population like Elephants, Giraffe, Lions, Buffalo, Cheetah, Leopards and Zebra are easily spotted. The park has a large batch of colorful birds species over 500 different species are housed with swamps that are spread all over the park. This makes Tarangire National Park to be amazing destination for bird lovers and we guarantee, nothing beats the experience of flying over the Tarangire on a hot air balloon ride. Some things are worth getting up early for and this is certainly one of them.

The wonderful experience of a hot-air balloon ride is enhanced many times over by conducting it over the incredible scenery and wildlife of Tarangire National Park. With over 30 years’ experience of operating hot-air balloons in Tanzania and all pilots trained to the highest international standards, with large commercial balloon pilot licenses from Tanzania and at least one other country, you will be in safe hands. It can be cool in the early morning, but often warm later, therefore a jacket or sweater that can be removed later is a good idea. A hat is recommended (particularly for the ‘follically challenged) as radiant heat from the burners can be uncomfortable.

We suggest long trousers, long sleeves, preferably in natural fibers and stout shoes. Don’t forget your camera and binoculars. You can bring a camera bag or a small backpack with you in the balloon.

If it’s too rainy or windy and the flight is deemed not safe to operate, the flight will be cancelled and your payment fully refunded with an option of rescheduling the flight to another day if you still have ample time left for your safari holiday.

At 5:00 am, you and your family and/or friends will be collected from your lodge or camp, and transferred by Landrover to the launch site. Here you will meet your pilot, receive a briefing, and watch the inflation of your balloon.

At dawn you will take off, rising as the sun rises and float in the direction of the morning winds. Your pilot will precisely control the altitude of your balloon sometimes flying at treetop height, other times lower, offering a unique perspective and great photographic opportunities of the wildlife below. He will also ascend to 1000 or more so you can see the enormity and wonderful panorama of the Tarangire National Park.

The flight is for about one hour depending on weather conditions. On landing, you will celebrate in with the traditional champagne toast and enjoy a full English breakfast of fresh tropical fruits, warm freshly baked bread, bacon, sausage, eggs, mushroom, and tomato prepared and served in the bush in ‘Out of Africa’ style served by stewards in customary Swahili dress.

After breakfast, you will receive your Tarangire Balloon certificate and be driven back to your camp or lodge via a game viewing route.

At 9:30 am you will return to camp or lodge ready to continue with your day’s activities.
